May 8th - 31st 2019, G.F Smith Showroom, Fitzrovia, London
For over 130 years, G.F Smith has been obsessed with the simple beauty and limitless possibility of paper. Today, they act as custodians of their founders’ remarkable legacy by making and curating the world’s finest paper collection. This year, for London Craft Week, G . F Smith partnered with us, MaterialDriven–a Design Agency and Materials Library, to present a collection of new, experimental materials that are at the forefront of design and sustainability.
Through a combination of smaller samples, finished objects, and larger installations, this collection showcases innovation in paper–both virgin and recycled–and in materials like wood, plastic, metal, rubber, textiles, linoleum, inks, and bio-composites. Occupying the lower ground floor of the iconic G.F Smith showroom in Central London, this display, curated and sourced by MaterialDriven, is an eye-catching composition of plinth-mounted pieces, set against the backdrop of larger wall mounted artworks.
